The LCM Master conveys extensive knowledge of organisational, political and rhetorical skills necessary to be an effective future leader and change manager. This Master's enabled me to refine my interpersonal, organisational and analytical skills through team and individual projects. These projects included but were not limited to:
My Master's studies gave me a glimpse into the business sphere, promoting the development of my consulting and analytical skills, my ability to lead change initiatives and a deeper understanding of what it means to be an effective and sound leader. My studies further fostered my interest in employee-centric consulting techniques, sustainability and sustainable leadership.
Acquired Skills:
The Psychology Bachelor at the VU Amsterdam emphasises the interplay between the world around us and our physical and mental health. The first two years of the Bachelor's focus on conveying general psychological principles and skills through courses such as, but not limited to, Biological and Cognitive Psychology, Work and Organisational Psychology, Psychological Interviewing Skills and an array of Statistic and Diagnostic courses. The third year is categorised as a Minor where a specialisation takes place. I chose to specialise in Social and Organisational (S&O) Psychology.
The S&O Minor provided me with an in-depth understanding of how individual and cultural differences between employees and employers can affect organisational and social structures within companies. During my Minor, I had multiple opportunities to prepare and execute workshops for groups of at least 20 people, nurturing my organisational, interpersonal and presentation skills. My Bachelor studies extended my knowledge of organisational HR and HRM processes, highlighting organisational change processes and how these affect every aspect of an organisation. Furthermore, my Minor and Bachelor studies stimulated a deep interest in employee behaviour and health within organisations, specifically in employee sustainable change initiatives.
